All our grass fed beef comes from friends and farmers Rob and Paul of Rosewood farm. They have been grass fed from day one, never any grain. They believe that cattle should eat nothing other than grass as this is their natural diet. Their cattle roam the Yorkshire Ing’s where Rob and Paul’s careful management enable the cattle to graze wildflower rich lands, all contributing to the wonderful beef this ultimately produces. Their traditional dexter cattle are well suited to this grazing land. As well as being 100% grass fed and grass finished Rob and Paul move their cattle regularly to help maintain these pastures and to keep their animals healthy, all while fertilising the land with cow manure.
Grass fed beef is considered to be higher in Vitamin A, Vitamin E, have a better ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6, and contain increased levels of Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Eating beef from cattle that have only ever eaten a natural diet of grass, wildflowers, clovers and legumes from unsprayed land just seems like the sensible option to us.
We and our farmers consider small scale farming to be better for the farmer, the land, the local economy, the animals and our customers. Ethically reared meat that you can trust.
